Today marks one week since the devastating tornado that touched down in St. Louis, causing unexpected and widespread damage to our region. As our community comes together in the aftermath of the storm, we recognize this will be a long road to recovery for affected students and their families.
In times like these, the power of connection matters more than ever. HOME WORKS! is committed to continuing to be a present partner in helping to build bridges between school and home, which will be increasingly important heading into the summer and upcoming school year.
We are actively exploring meaningful ways to support and engage families in the upcoming months while school is out of session to ensure that we are meeting the needs of all learners as our area recovers. More specifically, we will be looking to adapt our current programming – including Home Visits, Family-Educator Workshops, and Family Dinners – to meet students and families where they are this summer.
We welcome any thought partnership on how HOME WORKS! can best support our community during this time and please reach out if you’d like to get involved with next steps.
