Vashon High School is of the lowest-performing schools in the state. It is located in a high-poverty neighborhood in North St. Louis. Some teachers there are determined to improve the lives of their students. Despite reoccurring violence on the streets, these teachers at Vashon completed twenty-four successful visits to their students’ home as part of HOME WORKS! Here’s the miraculous part– every visit resulted in some sort of positive outcome for the student and/or his or her family. These brief testimonials are a MUST READ.
